From private helicopter arrivals to champagne picnics beneath ancient mountains, Veuve Clicquot's new Sun Escape brings the Maison's art de vivre to Far North Queensland.
Champagne has long been associated with extraordinary occasions. But what happens when champagne itself becomes the reason to travel?
That is the proposition behind Veuve Clicquot Sun Escape, an exclusive luxury experience launched in October 2026 at Mt Mulligan Lodge, approximately 160 kilometres northwest of Cairns.
Set within a spectacular 28,000-hectare wilderness property, the experience brings the Maison's signature solaire philosophy to the Australian outback, combining private helicopter transfers, exceptional gastronomy and prestige champagne against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Mulligan.
Guests enjoy accommodation in an Outback Pavilion, personalised gifts, intimate dining experiences and Veuve Clicquot's celebrated La Grande Dame. For larger celebrations, an exclusive lodge takeover accommodates up to 28 guests.

The experience also extends to Orpheus Island Lodge on the Great Barrier Reef, where private sunset cruises and champagne-paired dining offer a contrasting expression of Australian luxury.
With packages beginning at A$27,300 per couple, Sun Escape represents a significant evolution in how Champagne Houses engage with luxury travellers.
Rather than simply sponsoring hospitality experiences, Veuve Clicquot has created an immersive journey built around its identity, bringing champagne into the landscapes, gastronomy and culture of a destination far removed from France.
It reflects a broader movement towards experiential luxury, where exclusivity is defined not simply by what is served, but by where, how and with whom it is enjoyed.
Veuve Clicquot Sun Escape runs through August 2027.
