Champagne Lanson has launched the next iteration of Le Clos Lanson from the 2010 vintage.
After ageing for 12 years on lees, Le Clos Lanson is ready to be unveiled, revealing remarkable elegance and airy lightness. Only a very limited quantity of numbered bottles and magnums are produced for each vintage.
The champagne was awarded 97 points at the recent IWSC awards in London.
Le Clos Lanson, a unique place
Located in the heart of Reims, Le Clos Lanson is the only hectare of vineyard to remain within the historical walls of the city. This historical plot dating back of the 18th century offers a breathtaking view of the Cathedral. Hidden behind high walls and located just above the House cellars, Le Clos Lanson is farmed like a true garden both because of its unique location and the special care it receives on a daily basis.
To taste Le Clos Lanson is a journey to our iconic plot in the heart of Reims," says chef de caves, Hervé Dantan. "The soil is very pure, very chalky and an exceptional microclimate which is favourable to the development of the vine."
This one hectare plot of chardonnay is grown organically and vinified in Argonne forest oak barrels, without any malolactic fermentation. After a very long ageing process in Lanson's cellars, the result is a rare wine: full bodied, rich and delicate.
Le Clos Lanson reveals a fine and precise nose which is expressed with delicate woody notes.
The wine seduces with its great balance and its beautiful aromatic palate, revealing generous and gourmet notes, with a subtle fruity aromas.
