A special event to mark the launch of Champagne Frerejean Frères Solaire Grand Cru Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs at 2KW Bar and Restaurant.
The new champagne is a non-vintage blend of old and new chardonnays from Oger, Avize and Cramant - 20% aged in oak. Quite a young base (2016 comprising 50%), followed by 50% reserve wine from 2012, 2014 & 2015. A bright and particularly saline champagne that stands with distinction alongside others from their range.
Frerejean Frères are quality, boutique Avize-based producers. Their wines have a lovely weight and silky texture to them owed to extended time on lees (five years minimum) and use of malolactic fermentation. They are also very delicious and nicely balanced. Those who might recoil at the austerity of some blanc de blancs will find Frerejean Frères particularly palate friendly.
